Chicstab 136

Product description

CAS NO.  164391-52-0

Chicstab 136 is a highly efficient carbon-free radical scavenger that significantly enhances the antioxidant properties when used in conjunction with phenolic and phosphite antioxidants. It is suitable for a wide range of applications including polyolefins, polyurethanes, polycarbonates, polyesters, high-temperature adhesives, lubricants, and polyamides.

As a carbon-based scavenger, Chicstab 136 effectively inhibits oxidation during the initial stages of polymer oxidation. When combined with phosphite auxiliary antioxidants, it protects polymers by decomposing hydroperoxides, particularly during processing. The synergistic effect with hindered phenol antioxidants improves processing stability and prevents thermo-oxidative degradation, ensuring long-term thermal stability.

Physical properties

Physical form  White crystalline powder or granules
Melting Point, ℃ 130-135
Volatile Matter, % ≤0.5
Content, % ≥98.0

Features/benefits

Chicstab 136 can enhance heat resistance when synergistically used with other sulfide auxiliary antioxidants. It exhibits a notable anti-yellowing effect in plastic processing and enhances the anti-burning and anti-yellowing properties of polyurethane foam.  It is soluble in benzene, acetone, chloroform, and other similar solvents, but insoluble in water. It exhibits heat resistance and low volatility characteristics.

Guideline for use

The recommended dosage of Chicstab 136 ranges from 0.05% to 0.5%. It is recommended to use it in combination with antioxidants such as phenols and phosphites, rather than as a standalone additive.
